The #ThinkTwice Pledge
The #ThinkTwice campaign encourages internet users to practice self-regulation and mindful posting to create a safer, more respectful online community. Alongside the Surf’s Up campaign at UiTM, #ThinkTwice aims to raise awareness about the impacts of cyberbullying, and empower individuals to take an active role in shaping a healthier and safer internet community. Students are invited to sign the pledge, and amplify the message and contribute to a digital environment rooted in respect and integrity.
As part of the #ThinkTwice campaign, I pledge to:
1. Foster respectful, inclusive, and supportive online spaces.
-
I will treat others with kindness and respect in all my online interactions, even when we disagree.
-
I will support and uplift others by recognizing positive content and encouraging constructive conversations.
-
I will make an effort to understand diverse viewpoints and perspectives, creating space for inclusive discussions.
2. Think twice before posting, sharing, or commenting, recognizing the impact my words and actions can have on others.
-
I will pause before posting to consider if my message is accurate, respectful, and necessary.
-
I will avoid impulsive reactions and instead aim for responses that promote understanding and thoughtfulness.
-
I will ensure my comments or content won’t hurt, misinform, or misrepresent others.
-
I will fact check and ensure that I understand the context of the content I am consuming, before sharing my comment.
3. Protect my own privacy and encourage others to safeguard theirs.
-
I will limit sharing my personal information and be mindful of the privacy of others in any shared content.
-
I will regularly check my privacy settings to stay in control of my information online.
-
I will encourage friends and family to use privacy tools and to think critically about what they share publicly.
4. Promote digital literacy and responsible online behavior among my friends, family, and community.
-
I will share resources and tips on digital literacy, helping others understand how to verify information and spot misinformation.
-
I will actively model positive online behavior, encouraging those around me to engage in safe and respectful online activities.
-
I will support discussions about internet safety and educate others on recognizing and reporting harmful content.
5. Stand against cyberbullying, misinformation, and harmful content, committing to a positive and constructive presence online.
-
I will report or flag harmful, misleading, or abusive content that I encounter online.
-
I will refrain from engaging in or amplifying content that targets or harms individuals or groups.
-
I will be an advocate for safe and constructive spaces, helping to build a culture of positivity and empathy.
